A Simple Guide to Building a Home from the Ground Up

If you have a home designing itch that just can’t be scratched through doing a bit of refurbishing, then why not go one step further? Why not go as far a step as you can go when it comes to home designing, in fact, and build your very own home from the ground up for you and your family to live in? Doing so takes hard work, of course it does, but it is probably not as hard and probably won’t take as long as you would first expect it to. To see just what needs to be done in such a venture in as simple and as straightforward a way as possible, make sure to read on.

Get yourself the perfect plot of land to build on

The first thing to do in a home building venture is to, of course, find a plot of land to build on. But, this shouldn’t just be any plot of land, and it certainly shouldn’t just be the first plot that you come across. No, you should make sure that during the process of plot choosing that you are always looking out for and indeed holding out for the one that is perfect for you. Now, this plot could be perfect because of its geographical location. It could be perfect because of its price. It could be perfect because of its size. Basically, the plot that you choose should match your building dreams and aspirations perfectly.

When it comes to finding such a plot, that’s where hard work on your part is going to come into it. What this hard work would entail specifically is you searching for plots using various sources of doing so, such as the Internet, and then you actively heading out to these plots to make sure they look just as good in real life as they did on your computer screen. Even if you were looking at and researching residential land for rent in as far away a place as Malaysia, it is still advised that you actually see the plot you invest in for yourself with your own eyes before you actually hand over any money in regards to it. You need to do so because, quite simply, things never do look quite the same as they do on a screen, whether that be for better or for worse!

Get all the legal stuff out of the way

As boring as legal stuff always is (and, believe me, when it comes to home building it’s just about as fun as it is in regards to everything else) it simply has to be covered when you are seeking to build to your own home. Specifically, what you need to do is get to grips with and sort out a mortgage strategy for your new-build that will both keep the building work on the right side of the law and keep everything you do financially in regards to the venture on that side too. What you should be doing when sorting out such a strategy is ensuring that any and all money lenders involved with the venture are kept in the know in regards to everything at all times. By not doing so, and more importantly by not mentioning them in any legally bound paperwork, then all parties — you and them included — will be in trouble.

Start floor planning, and get building

And now for the fun part, the floor planning and the building! But, as fun and as physically rewarding as this stage is, don’t let the euphoria of it all get to your head: one bad move at this stage could spell disaster for your new-build venture. So, make sure you are always doing your utmost best to avoid the making of bad moves!

When it comes to floor planning, a bad move would be not using a floor plan software as this kind of technology makes architecture as easy as it ever has been, whether those that use it are proficient in the subject of architecture or not. In this software you would be able to see your proposed building layout in blueprint form, and seeing this is pivotal when it comes to doing the little, innocuous things that you think don’t mean a great deal but actually do, such as the placement of doors and windows.

Once you’ve laid out the best made floor plans of your new-build, it’s time to start building it. And, no, don’t worry because this does not mean you will have to do all of the work alone. Of course, helping out with the building work is something that you should both want to do and are, to be honest, expected to do — to make sure you’re up to this task, consider taking a course on design and construction prior to the starting of the building venture — but most of the work will be done by professionals in the field of building and construction. And when it comes to choosing who exactly it is that will be doing this work for you, make sure to take your time in studying and vetting the professionals you seek to bring in before you do so; make sure you have your building professionally surveyed once all the work is done, also You need to do this because, unfortunately, in this day and age, cowboy builders are rife and sometimes it’s hard to spot them when the only thing you know about them and their work is what they tell you.

Building your own home is something that you should be doing if you have a home designing scratch that you have, thus far in life, been unable to itch. So, what are you waiting for? Go on, do it, build your own home! And, when you do, make sure to throw the biggest house warming party your friends and new neighbours have ever seen because after all of your hard work in plot finding, mortgage sorting, floor planning and building the home, you’ll definitely deserve it!

Don’t Waste Time Unpacking

It might be the most thing that you need to do, but you really shouldn’t put off unpacking for too long. After all, the quicker you get on with it, the sooner it will be over and done with. The sooner everything is out of all the cardboard boxes, you will be able to check everything and make sure that there is nothing broken or missing. If there is, you can then get in touch with the moving firm to try and figure out what went wrong during transit. Plus, once you are all done with unpacking, that’s it – you can finally sit back, relax, and forget all about it!

Change The Locks

The previous tenant of your new house or apartment will have given you all of the copies of keys that they have. Even so, it’s still a good idea to change the looks. Remember, though, this is only an option if you have actually bought your new house or flat – if you are renting, you will have to check with the landlord to see if it is ok to do so. You never know who the previous tenant or homeowner gave copies of the keys to, and those copies might still be out there. There’s no way of knowing who, if anyone, has some keys to your home! So, change the locks just to be on the safe side!

Inspect The House

This is a crucial step if you are renting your new home and have paid a security deposit. Before you get too settled into your new surroundings, it’s super important that you have a quick check to make sure everything is how it should be. Do you notice any damage that was there before you moved in? If so, take a picture and let your landlord know. That way, they will be aware that you didn’t cause the damage. If they think that you did, then they might end up deducting some of your deposit when it is time to move out.

Get Your Electrical System Serviced

Has the electrical system in your new property been in situ for a few years? If so, then it’s a good idea to get it serviced as soon as you move in. Not too sure how old it is? Well, it’s a good idea to get it serviced anyway so that you can be sure there is nothing wrong with it that might cause a risk to you. You can hire a regular electrician to do the service for you. They will check the system to make sure that there are no problems with it. They will also be able to replace any or the entire system if necessary.

Get Your New Utility Bills Sorted

One of the first parts of paperwork that you need to sort out for your new home is all the bills. You will need to set up an account with your local water company, an electricity supplier, telephone and internet company, and your local council. If there are some meters in your home, such as an electricity meter, gas meter, or water meter, you should take readings as soon as you move in. These readings will be needed when you set up your account so that the companies can figure out how much energy and water you use after you move in. Make sure that you don’t delay in setting up these accounts and don’t take the wrong meter readings as these could lead to you paying too much for your first utility bills.

4

Get Some Insurance

As well as setting up your utility bills, you will also need to get some insurance. There are different types of insurance that are available for homeowners, some of which you might be able to do without. At the very least, though, you should get contents insurance so that all of your belongings are protected against theft and accidental damage. It’s also necessary to get building insurance as well as this protects the structure of the property against any damage. If you now live in an area or neighborhood that is at risk of flooding, you might want to take out additional insurance that protects against water damage and flooding.

5

Clean Your New Home

You should always clean your entire home once you have moved in, even if it looks completely spick and span! This is especially the case for any houses or apartments that have been empty for a while before you move in. There might be quite a bit of dust and grime on the worktops and surfaces, for instance, if no one has been looking after the property for a few months. Don’t forget to get into those often forgotten places, like a basement or under the stairs cupboard, as these could be particularly dirty.

Set Up A Mail-Forwarding Service

Don’t want to keep on having to go back to your old address to pick up your mail? If not, then you should set up a mail-forwarding service. When you register for this service, you give the company your old address and your new address. Whenever any letters or packages addressed to you get sent to your old address, they will be automatically redirected and forwarded to your new address. So, you don’t have to go round to your old address and pick up any mail ever again! You can set up this service for as long as you need it.

6

Pexels

Sort Out The Garden

If your new place comes with its very own garden, you should get out into it and sort it out as soon as you have time. If you leave it for too long, the garden will only end up getting overgrown and it will look like you’ve bought a house with a jungle attached to it! Don’t worry if you aren’t really a keen gardener. You don’t need to spend hours in your garden; just try and make sure that it’s smartened up a bit. So, that involves mowing the lawn, trimming any overgrown bushes and trees, and just generally giving the place a bit of a spruce up. You might even like the idea of adding a patio and patio roofing to create a pleasant seating area. If you don’t want to end up working in your garden every week, it’s worth changing it so that it is easier to manage and maintain. For instance, you might want to replace the lawn and any grassy areas with some paving slabs.

Start Decorating

Now you can start to get on with all the fun, creative things! And one of the things that is the most fun to do is decorating! It gives you the chance to put your very own stamp on your new place and fill it with your personal style and flair. Again, this is something that you shouldn’t waste too much time with getting on with. Otherwise, it will just become a big chore! Once you move in, start to think about how you can go about decorating your place. For example, you might want to try and achieve a vintage decor by purchasing lots of second-hand and antique furniture from your nearest flea market. If you want a more contemporary feel to your new place, it’s probably best to visit your local furniture store to see what all the latest trends and styles in interior design are like right now.

Say Hello To The Neighbors

As a nice gesture, it’s always a great idea to pop around to your neighbors and say hello. It’s a good idea to get well acquainted with whoever you live next to so that you always feel comfortable if you ever need to ask them about anything or for any advice. Plus, getting to know you will probably put their mind at ease as well. You never know, you might even become firm friends and start to hang out together!

So, as you can see, getting your new place sorted doesn’t have to be completely boring and hard work. There are actually a few fun and creative things that you will need to do as well!

Wedding courtesy around the world are different to one another. Other are too simple while other prefers to be extravagance. But in the end of the day what really important is, you couple had shared the loved and vows to one another that can really makes difference.

But of course, attending wedding must be well organized by following the dress code as for the religions or beliefs rules hence you wont be look so disrespectful to the ones tying the knot as you, yourself is an attendee.

Hence, you should check out on below’s details as you have a friends, a colleagues and even a family who are into different ethnicity that has differ way in celebrating love.

Once the excitement of receiving a wedding invitation has worn off, it’s time to start planning your outfit. Choosing a guest outfit for a wedding in the UK is hard enough, but what about if you’ve been invited to a wedding of a different culture? Together with Charles Tyrwhitt, retailers of timeless menswear, we look at how the dress code of a wedding changes depending on the background of the newlyweds.

What will the bride be wearing?

Brides are known in the UK for their flattering white dresses, accompanied by a long train and veil. But how do our own bridal traditions compare to India, Japan and China?

India

In India, the lady’s dress depends on the region of India that they’re from. In some regions, the bride wears a saree which is a garment that looks like a long drape, in others she wears a lehenga which is a long skirt. Often the bride is dressed in red or another vibrant colour, her garments will be carefully embroidered with an impressive design.

The bride and her bridal party often have henna on their palms, hands, forearms and legs.

Japan

Japanese weddings are very elaborate and it is acceptable for families to spend close to £75,000 on a wedding day. It is often the parents of the couple who organise the wedding, and they are willing to spend excessive amounts to save face. Because of the large scale of the weddings, the bride can have as many as 5 costume changes!

At a traditional (Shinto) wedding, the bride wears a white kimono, but more recently Japanese brides wear a dress that has a traditional print.

China

In China, it is likely that the bride will be dressed in red as it is considered a sign of good luck that can warn off evil spirits. In some regions, typically in northern China, the traditional attire for a bride is a one-piece dress that is embroidered with gold and silver designs. In southern China, the typical wear is a two-piece frock.

A bridal crown is part of the wedding costume for some brides too – it is worn for photography or for show at a grand occasion. For footwear, a special pair of shoes are often worn that are embroidered with a symbol — for example, a turtle or a deer which symbolises happiness and longevity.

In addition, the color of the dresses that both groom and bride should be wear off was color red. Because red symbolizes wealth and an eternity of love that the couple should keep till the end of time.

What will the groom be wearing?

The men often have traditional dress codes that they are expected to follow – however, many of them are opting for a smart suit similar to how a groom in the UK would dress.

India

Similar to the women, it depends on what region of India the groom is from as to what they wear. Some husbands-to-be wear traditional dress, such as a dhoti which is a rectangular cloth ties around the waist. In other regions, they wear a sherwani (a long coat), a kurta (loose falling shirt that hangs below the knee), or a Western suit.

The men also have henna on their bodies but it is less elaborate and often hidden.

Japan

Traditionally, a Japanese groom wears a wedding kimono for the ceremony and then changes into a tuxedo. The formal kimono that he wears is called a montsuki, and often displays the family crest. More recently, younger grooms start the ceremony in a tuxedo too.

China

In China, the husband-to-be traditionally wears a black silk coat over an embroidered robe. Often, in the modern day, the overcoat is not worn.

The groom has to wear certain headwear too – this is usually a black hat with a red tassel. Some younger generations are not following the traditional dress code and simply wear a tuxedo or a Western-style business suit.

What should the guests wear?

It can be difficult to choose an outfit as a guest, as there are many traditions and symbols that you may be unaware of and you don’t want to offend anyone.

India

At an Indian wedding, the bolder your outfit is the better. Wearing vibrant colours will mean you fit in with the Indian guests. Guests should avoid white or black as these are colours worn for funerals and mourning in India. It is also advised that red is not worn either as the bride will probably be dressed in this colour.

Women guests should not bare their shoulders, wear low cut tops or short skirts as this can be seen as disrespectful — a jewel-tone dress with a shawl is one appropriate outfit. The Indian female guests will most likely be dressed in colourful sarees or anarkali suits. Jewellery is important for women too, choose a statement piece for around your neck with matching earrings and bangles.

Men often wear a tailored kurta with a pyjama and a dupatta (shawl) can be added over the kurta. For their feet, sandals, jootis or chappals are often worn as these are comfortable and prevent overheating.

Guests might also be expected to cover their heads if the wedding is held in a temple. For this, women can wear a long scarf or pashmina over their heads and men are usually provided with a head cover such as a large handkerchief.

An Indian wedding is often a long drawn out event (it could be three days long!) so make sure you are wearing something loose and comfortable.

Japan

At a traditional Japanese wedding, men were expected to be dressed very formally with a black suit and white tie. Now however, the dress code is more flexible and it is accepted for men to come dressed in suits other than black with various coloured ties. However, it is advised to avoid white clothes with black ties.

Women often wear dresses that are knee length or a coloured kimono to take on a traditional look. It is best to avoid showing any shoulder as this can be deemed a disrespectful.

China

When dressing for a Chinese wedding, avoid wearing red as this can be seen as trying to steal the limelight from the bride. It’s best to wear pink, peach or purple as these are all symbols of new life and happiness. A formal dress is suitable for a Chinese wedding.

Colours to avoid include black and white, as these symbolise mourning and black is considered to be the colour of bad luck.

Three Crucial Steps for Anti-Aging Success

Some people have no problem with the effects of aging and simply embrace the wrinkles and lines of time that come with living. But most people are determined not to show their age on the face. For this majority of people, good skincare and habits can make all the difference in how rapidly one appears to age.

Unfortunately, there is also a lot of bad information about aging, which leaves people feeling confused about their options. It turns out, however, that most of the important aspects of anti-aging success are actually quite simple and do not require complicated regimens, expensive creams, or extensive procedures. For most people, only three steps are necessary to keep the worst of aging at bay.

The first and most important aspect of an anti-aging regimen is wearing sunscreen. You should wear sunscreen every single day, even if you’re not planning on spending any time relaxing in the sun. Sun damage is the single most destructive element for your face, causing wrinkles, lines, dryness, hyperpigmentation, and rough skin texture. Wear at least 30 SPF every day and make sure to apply more sunscreen for every two hours that are spent in the sun. Wear a hat and sunglasses for even better protection, and don’t forget to protect the rest of your body, especially your neck, decolletage, shoulders, and arms.

Next, look into using simple anti-aging formulas that moisturize. If you want an extra boost, add Vitamin C to your regimen. Moisturizing regularly, however, is absolutely essential to making your skin look healthy and firm every day. When you don’t moisturize, your skin will look dull and dry, and your wrinkles and lines will be much more apparent. You don’t need an expensive moisturizer to do the trick. In fact, some people use petroleum jelly with great success.

Finally, don’t be afraid to contact a professional dermatologist for the best results. Shop around and find a local professional who can help you look your best. For example, if you need advanced dermatology Colorado, look for a trusted practitioner like Colorado Skincare to meet your needs. A professional dermatologist can prescribe powerful anti-aging medications like retinol and can even perform laser surgery or other facial adjustments.

Don’t be afraid to fight the signs of aging by taking good care of your skin. It’s never too early to start caring about your appearance.

What Are The Best Tech Features For The Modern Homeowner?

Security

A safe home is a happy home, which is why suitable protection should always be the top item on your agenda. Until you’ve upgraded this aspect of the property, you’ll never gain the perfect atmosphere.

Alarm systems have evolved while modern surveillance cameras even offer the chance to track things from your phone. This type of protection doesn’t only keep intruders at bay, but it also gives you the peace of mind needed to relax.

Digital technology isn’t the only solution. Using modern locks for doors and windows will have a huge impact too.

Entertainment

Home is a place for families to relax and enjoy their leisure time. This is one area where technology comes into its own.

Watching television is a longstanding family favorite, but viewing habits have changed. Using a legal streaming site can enable you to watch brilliant shows, including those that aren’t on TV, at your leisure. Meanwhile, upgrading to TV boxes that allow you to pause and record shows allows you to stop living by the schedule.

Video games are another fantastic option. Nowadays, you can even use interactive titles on the PS4 and Xbox One to get a little exercise while having fun. Perfect.

Cooking

Eating is a crucial part of our daily routines, which is why cooking is one of the most important daily chores. However, nobody wants to spend needless hours slaving over the stove. Thanks to modern tech gadgets, this no longer has to be an issue.

George Foreman grills are a particularly useful tool for those wanting leaner meats. Meanwhile, the internet is packed with slow cooker recipes that can turn a Crock Pot into your new favorite tool. Not only does it make things in the kitchen less time-consuming. It additionally gives even amateur cooks a chance to become king or queen of the kitchen.

Bon appetit, thanks to home technology.

Upcycling

Technology has many uses, but the ability to save money is unquestionably one of its greatest. Once upon a time, the tools needed for high-quality jobs were reserved for the professionals. Increased accessibility and reduced costs have opened new doors for the modern homeowner.

Fashion lovers can use simple household objects to create new garments and outfits. Meanwhile, homeowners can use tools and materials to turn old furniture into useful items. Alternatively, a little creativity can turn cheap products into useful household hacks. For example, stationary folders can become useful holders that can be stuck to the sides of cupboards.

Many of those projects are quite simple but do require advanced tools to create lasting results. Bolster your tool box, and the opportunities to build a better home on a limited budget will be greater than ever. If that doesn’t signal a good use for technology, what does?

Optimize Your Self-Esteem By Using These Simple Beauty Strategies

When people do not feel confident about the way they look, the end result is oftentimes compromised self-esteem. To ensure that you don’t have to deal with a lack of confidence when interacting with others or evaluating your own self-worth, it’s a good idea to implement beauty tips that can help you feel and look amazing. Below you’ll find some beauty strategies that may help you realize this objective:

1. Abandon The Standard American Diet (SAD).

The Standard American Diet (SAD) is bad news for anyone pursuing beauty and holistic health. This is the case because the diet lacks fiber and key nutrients that are known to optimize health-building physiological functions like circulation. Another issue with the SAD diet is that it is largely comprised of processed foods that are loaded with sodium, artificial sweeteners, and a wide range of toxins that zap your energy. In terms of physical appearance, the SAD diet can generate unwanted outcomes like acne and weight gain. This is why it should be avoided at all costs. A wonderful alternative to the SAD diet is the plant-based diet. This mode of eating involves making fresh fruits and vegetables the central component of one’s meal plan. Eating this way facilitates beauty by generating clearer, more youthful-looking skin while also enhancing the weight loss process. As you begin optimizing your eating patterns, you may find yourself in the kitchen quite a bit. If you’re in need of new equipment such as commercial freezer parts, note that you can obtain them from companies such as www.online-reps.com.

2. Start Practicing Yoga.

In addition to abandoning the SAD diet, consider the value of developing a yoga practice. This strategy will help optimize the appearance of your skin by promoting better circulation of blood throughout the body. Another beauty benefit of regularly engaging in yoga is that doing so can promote better posture. There are several ways that you can make yoga an integral component of your life. One is joining a local gym where yoga is offered as a group fitness class. Another strategy you might find helpful is hiring a private instructor. If you choose to hire a yoga instructor, make sure that you do background research on her or his credentials and experience to ensure that you’re working with a top notch fitness professional who will provide you with the excellent services, resources, and feedback you deserve.

Start Using These Tips Now!

If you want to enhance your self-esteem by improving your appearance, there are several ways that you can make it happen. Two of them include abandoning the SAD diet and practicing yoga. Start making these lifestyle changes now so you can get gorgeous as soon as possible!

Draw Out Your Drawing Talents With These 5 Jobs

Art is often ridiculed as a subject that won’t get you a job. But being able to draw well is in fact a valuable skill that can lead to a very well-paid profession. Here are a few examples of jobs that require your drawing talents.

Graphic design

Graphic design is essential to almost every product around us. On top of technical drawing, many products will require a sketch drawing which is freehand and requires more artistic ability. Branding such as packaging, logo-building and ad design also relies heavily on the more arty side of drawing, with designers having to draw cartoon characters or inventing iconographies. Familiarising yourself with certain graphics design programmes such as Adobe Illustrator can be useful (there are many Illustrator training courses available). Graphic design tablets and styluses have made digital drawing a lot easier – you can practically draw as if you were using paper and pen, with the added bonus that you can digitally erase.

Cartoons

Finding full-time work as a cartoonist is difficult but if you look hard enough you’ll find it. You may not land a job illustrating a comic strip or providing the animation for a Disney movie, but you may be able to provide political cartoons to newspapers or provide humorous cartoons for a kids magazine. If you’re bold enough, you can even take to the streets and offer caricatures. Many cartoonists will work on a freelance basis. Build up a portfolio and you’ll eventually be able to attract your own clients.

Illustrating

Publishing companies will often work with illustrators, providing writers with images for their books. Getting one’s foot in the door can be difficult – many will create blogs of their artwork and then approach publishing companies and authors individually. Children’s books are a particularly good way in as these are more picture-heavy. Illustrators may also be required for instruction manuals – whilst this can sometimes be more technical, pictures of people and hands may be needed that require a more skilled artist.

Album artwork

Whilst some musicians are happy to use a photo in their press pack, others prefer to have hand-drawn artwork to go with their albums and singles. This can be a lucrative market, although may require a lot of networking with local musicians. Eventually you can build up a portfolio which you can use to attract clients. Band, PR companies and music agents may recommend you based on your previous work.

Courtroom sketching

Before photography, courtroom sketching was commonplace. It has recently become more widespread, with many courts banning photographers. Courtroom sketches involve drawing a picture of courtroom proceedings and require a certain level of drawing talent. You don’t need to be legally trained, although an art degree may be favourable in many cases, as well as the ability to work in a short time frame.

The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

What better way to kick off our list than with the cover of a Grammy-winning album that was created by art champion and director Robert Fraser? The sleeve was a combination of work by designers Jann Haworth and Peter Blake and saw more than 70 artists, writers, thinkers and figures who inspired The Beatles featured. As a subtle nod to the end of the Hard Day’s Night-fueled Beatlemania era, the cover also saw the iconic British band as they were in 1967 standing alongside their younger selves.

The Beatles – Abbey Road

The Beatles are the only band to make our list twice, though it shouldn’t be much of a surprise when you consider that the two album covers featured are those for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road. For the latter, the famous foursome chose to part ways with simulations and instead feature themselves walking across a zebra crossing in a typical British street. It is a scene that has been replicated countless times ever since.

Pink Floyd – Dark Side Of The Moon

(Cover can be seen here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/gncz/)

Legendary designers Hipgnosis were the brains behind the cover for Pink Floyd’s album Dark Side Of The Moon, with a single beam of light shining through a prism and forming a rainbow on the other side creating a simple yet bold look. This image was used to convey the band’s stage lighting as well as the lyrics some of the album’s songs. It also speaks volume that despite the sleeve having no words, most people instantly knows its name and the band behind it.

Nirvana – Nevermind

(Cover can be seen here: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/nevermind-anniversary-nirvana-baby-kurt-cobain-dave-grohl-a7328811.html)

The cover for Nirvana’s album Nevermind was apparently conceptualised after Kurt Cobain watched a programme about water births. After hiring photographer Kirk Weddle to bring the sleeve into reality, the result was an innocent baby swimming underwater towards a dollar bill that was hanging from a fishhook. The rest was history.

Meat Loaf – Bat Out Of Hell

(Cover can be seen here: https://www.discogs.com/Meat-Loaf-Bat-Out-Of-Hell/release/2831488)

The songs featured on Meat Loaf’s Bat Out Of Hell were crazy in a good way, so it was fitting that the sleeve of the record was just as brilliantly wild. Conceptualised by Jim Steinman but actually created by comic book artist Richard Corben, the cover saw a motorcycle powering out of a graveyard while a giant bat loomed menacingly over the tombstones in the background.

Queen – Queen II

Music fans are likely to recognise the sleeve of Queen’s album Queen II, as it also features in the music video for the band’s hit single Bohemian Rhapsody. The cover is a simple one, with the four members of Queen standing in a diamond formation upon a black background. Rock, who had enjoyed work with the likes of David Bowie, Lou Reed and Iggy Pop, has since being quoted as saying: “It made them look like much bigger a deal then they were at the time, but it was a true reflection of their music.”
